Regulations: Foreign and national currencies can be imported in unlimited amounts. The export is limited to the amount of the declared import.

Monetary amounts in euros must be declared on entry from 2,000 euros. Foreign currency from an equivalent value of 1,000 euros.

The declaration document must be kept! Failure to do so can result in the confiscation of foreign currency.

Cash payment is common and the rule in Montenegro.

Customs regulations

The following may be carried duty-free:

  • 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g of tobacco
  • 2 liters of wine or 1 liter of spirits over 22%
  • small amounts of perfume
