
Visa to Mexico
Information about obtaining a Mexican visa and the possibilities of simplified entry into the territory of Mexico.
IMPORTANT: citizens of Russia, Belarus, Armenia and other countries who have one of the migration documents listed below do not need a multiple-entry consular visa or an electronic permit to enter the territory of Mexico, provided that the purpose of the trip is tourism or activity, not implying financial reward:
– A valid visa from Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the states that are part of the Schengen area;
– A document confirming permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the states that are part of the Schengen area, as well as Chile, Colombia or Peru.
Since January 2017, ALL citizens of Russia, regardless of their country of birth, have the right to travel to Mexico with an electronic permit, but only by air.
- This permit is valid for 1 month for one entry up to 180 days.
- The issuance of an electronic permit cannot be guaranteed, so it must be issued well in advance of the tour, but not earlier than 30 days before the tour.
- The cost of registration is 20 usd per person.
Those wishing to obtain a long-term visa (up to 10 years) can do this at the Consular Section of the Embassy.
Documents required to obtain a visa for 6 months should provide the following documents:
- Questionnaire completed in English;
- Foreign passport valid for at least 6 months (from the date of entry into Mexico);
- Copy of the first page of the passport;
- Copies of valid visas (if available);
- Copies of Mexican visas (if any);
- One color photograph 3×4 on a white background; without glasses, the face is completely open; pasted on the questionnaire;
- Confirmation of solvency: certificate of employment with company details, seal, signature of the chief accountant, salary information (at least $ 550 or 37,000 rubles)
- Bank statement (movement of funds for the last 6 months). Min. the amount of the balance on the statement is $ 2,500 or 165,000 rubles.
- Those who do not have their own income (children, students, etc.) provide documents of sponsors + a sponsorship letter (parents, spouses) with proof of kinship.
- Additionally, the Consular Section may request documents confirming the address, length of service and position held, and other information about the applicant.
For private entrepreneurs:
- A photocopy of the Certificate for the implementation of private entrepreneurial activity.
- Certificate of income indicating the amount of wages.
- Bank statement with cash flow for the last six months and a balance of at least $2,500.
For pensioners:
- A photocopy of the pension certificate.
- Bank statement with cash flow for the last six months and a balance of at least $2,500.
For children:
- Copy of birth certificate.
- For students – a certificate from an educational institution (school, institute).
- A notarized copy of permission from the second parent, if the minor child leaves the country with one of the parents.
- A copy of the first page (photo page) of the parent’s RFP, regardless of whether they are flying with a child or not.
- The consular fee for children is paid at the adult rate. A visa is required, even if the child is entered in the parents’ passport.
- Completed application form in English.
Required: consent to the processing of personal data is written from the parents (from both, regardless of whether one of the parents is traveling, or both, they write a general consent).
Please note that from February 15, 2013, to enter Mexico, minors traveling without parents or with one parent must have the original birth certificate and the original consent to leave the child. Consent must be with a notarized translation into Spanish. The birth certificate does not need to be translated.
