According to localcollegeexplorer, United States (US) is a country located in North America and is comprised of fifty states and one federal district. Its history began with the first settlers from Europe who arrived in the 17th century and established 13 colonies, which eventually became the original 13 states. During this period, the US fought for its independence from Britain, culminating in the American Revolution of 1776. This was followed by a period of rapid expansion as the US acquired more land through numerous wars and treaties with Native American tribes. In 1861, a civil war broke out between North and South due to disagreements over slavery but ultimately ended with Union victory in 1865. The subsequent Reconstruction era saw dramatic economic growth and industrialization while also laying the groundwork for modern civil rights laws. In the 20th century, America became a major global power with its involvement in two world wars and its establishment of numerous international organizations such as NATO and United Nations. Afterward, it experienced unprecedented economic growth while also becoming a leader in science, technology, entertainment and culture. Today, it is considered one of the world’s most powerful countries with strong ties to Europe, Asia and Latin America through numerous international organizations as well as military alliances such as NATO. Despite its impressive development however, it still faces various challenges such as poverty, inequality and racism. The United States (US) is a sovereign state located in North America. In 2010, it had a population of around 309 million people and its official language is English. The currency in the US is the US dollar. In 2010, the US was one of the largest and most powerful economies in the world due to its strong manufacturing base and well-developed services sector. Its economy was growing steadily and it had become an attractive destination for foreign investment due to its stable political environment, advanced infrastructure and highly skilled workforce. The US also had a rich cultural heritage which attracted millions of tourists each year from all over the world. This included iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, White House, Grand Canyon and many other historic sites. In 2010, the US was actively seeking to diversify its economy away from manufacturing by investing heavily into other industries such as technology, finance, tourism and real estate. It was also making great strides in developing renewable energy sources such as wind power with plans for a nuclear power plant underway. Overall, the US had made considerable progress since 2010 and continued to be an attractive destination for foreign investment due to its strategic location in North America, advanced infrastructure projects and highly skilled workforce.
