UAE had also become well known for its luxury shopping centres and resorts which attract millions of tourists each year. The country also boasts some of the world’s tallest buildings such as Burj Khalifa in Dubai as well as many other architectural wonders such as Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. In 2010, UAE was actively seeking to diversify its economy away from oil by investing heavily into other industries such as tourism, finance, real estate and technology. It was also making great strides in developing renewable energy sources such as solar power with plans for a nuclear power plant underway. Overall, UAE had made considerable progress since 2010 and continued to be an attractive destination for foreign investment and tourism due to its strategic location at the crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa, abundant natural resources and growing infrastructure projects.
