According to localcollegeexplorer, South Africa is a nation located at the southern tip of the African continent. It has a long and complex history that has been shaped by its diverse population, which includes the Khoisan people who were living in the area as early as 10,000 BC. In 1488, Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias became the first European to land in South Africa. This was followed by further exploration and settlement by Dutch colonists in 1652 who established a trading post at Cape Town. The Dutch East India Company colonized much of the region over the next few centuries and brought in large numbers of slaves from other parts of Africa to work on their farms. In 1806, Britain seized control of Cape Town following a series of wars with Holland and France. Over the next century, they continued to expand their influence into other parts of South Africa while also introducing new laws which sought to restrict non-white citizens’ rights including prohibiting them from owning land or voting in elections. In 1910, South Africa was declared an independent nation with white minority rule led by Prime Minister Louis Botha. This led to increased segregation between whites and non-whites known as “apartheid” which included laws such as banning interracial marriage and segregating public areas such as beaches and parks based on race. In 1948, apartheid was officially adopted as state policy but it wasn’t until 1994 that Nelson Mandela was elected president following a peaceful transition from minority rule to majority rule with universal suffrage for all races for the first time in history. Since then, South Africa has made great strides towards achieving racial equality with government policies aimed at redressing past injustices through affirmative action programs and economic empowerment initiatives for disadvantaged communities. Today, South Africa is recognized as one of the most developed countries on the African continent with its economy driven by tourism, manufacturing and mining industries while also boasting world-class universities producing top graduates each year. It is also home to vibrant cultural diversity with 11 official languages spoken throughout its borders including Afrikaans, English and Xhosa among many others making it an ideal destination for eco-tourists looking for an unforgettable experience in paradise. In 2010, South Africa was a federal parliamentary republic located in the southern region of the African continent. This large nation had an area of 1,219,090 square kilometers and a population of around 49 million people. The capital and largest city was Pretoria while other major cities included Cape Town and Johannesburg. English was the official language of the country. The economy of South Africa in 2010 was largely based on services with services accounting for around 66% of GDP followed by manufacturing at around 25%. Services included finance, banking, tourism, shipping and logistics while manufacturing included automobiles, chemicals and textiles. In terms of infrastructure, South Africa had a modern port at Durban which enabled easy access to international trade partners. A road system connected all parts of the country while public transportation options included buses and trains for tourists to explore its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes and national parks including Kruger National Park and Table Mountain National Park. South Africa Literature and Theater

South Africa Literature and Theater

From the second half of the nineteenth century to the twentieth century South African literature, which developed from the second half of the nineteenth century, does not possess a unitary character, as disparate and often antagonistic factors coexist in it, except that three major components, at the same time ethnic and linguistic, are kept in mind. One is that of Afrikaner, that is of the whites of Boer origin, which is expressed in Afrikaans. Another is linked to the Zulu,…
