DAY 1

Departure from Sweden to experience the great South African journey. Upon arrival in South Africa, stay at City Lodge at Johannesburg Airport for an early start of the round trip the following day.

DAY 2

You travel from Johannesburg to the northeast. At first it is a motorway but pretty soon the nature becomes more beautiful and you reach the Drakensberg. You do sightseeing along what is called the Panorama Route and visit e.g. magnificent Blyde River Canyon. Arrival at the hotel late afternoon.

DAY 3

Early start and you go on a safari in an open jeep through the Kruger Park. Kruger is one of the world’s largest and most famous national parks with its 2 million hectares of nature. It is about twice as big as Skåne. There are many different types of antelopes, giraffes, elephants, predators such as lions and leopards to name a few. In addition, more than 500 different bird species.

DAY 4

After breakfast, the trip heads south towards the Kingdom of eSwatini, formerly Swaziland which is located in South Africa. The small mountainous country is full of African culture and offers beautiful nature and different experiences with a special focus on crafts. Lunch at Matsamo Cultural Village. Visit to Ngwenya Glass Factory. Visit to the market for shopping.

DAY 5

Breakfast at the hotel and then south through eswatini geom the mountainous regions and down to South Africa again. In the afternoon you get a scenic drive through the Umbombo Mountains where you stop for sundowners. Visits to a Zulu village are on the agenda.

DAY 6

Relax in the morning with the opportunity to do one of the activities the hotel offers. After lunch on to South Africa’s oldest national park, Hluhluwe which is known for its rhinos.

DAY 7

The journey continues towards the sea and the Elephant Coast and the wetlands of St Lucia. Safari by boat in the World Heritage Site in Simangaliso Wetland Park where there are many hippos, crocodiles and various bird species. Late in the day you arrive in Durban.

DAY 8

City tour and sightseeing in Durban. Fly to Port Elizabeth in the afternoon where transfers await and take you to the hotel.

DAY 9

Travel continues along the coast towards beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park which is described as the garden of the Garden Route. You take a walk along Storms River Mouth where the sea and the view are dramatic and beautiful. Continue towards Plettenberg Bay.

DAY 10

Visit to the Elephant Sanctuary and then after lunch a visit to the nearby Birds of Eden.

DAY 11

You continue along the Garden Route towards Knysna with a visit to the city’s Waterfront.

Further in the afternoon towards Oudtshoorn which is known as the world’s ostrich capital. Visit to ostrich farm with guided tour.

DAY 12

The journey continues along the Garden Route with visits to the famous stalactite caves Cango Caves. In the afternoon you go towards Cape Town and arrive around 1800.

DAY 13

Guided full day trip to Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope. The peninsula has both beautiful nature, history and a special wildlife.

DAY 14

Full day tour in the beautiful wine district. Cape Winelands is located near Cape Town around the cities of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. The landscape is postcard beautiful with high mountains on the horizon and idyllic vineyards in Cape Dutch style.

DAY 15

Breakfast and guided tour in Cape Town. The great South African journey is coming to an end and you will be transferred to the airport in the evening for the return journey.
