DAY 1

A classic safari in Kenya begins with your departure from Sweden.

DAY 2

You arrive in Nairobi where you are met by your driver and you get a transfer to your hotel.

DAY 3

You start your safari early in the morning and drive to the Samburu National Reserve. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After a good lunch, it’s time for an afternoon gamma drive in the Buffalo Spring area. At sunset you return to the lodge again.

DAY 4

The day is spent in the Shaba National Reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives. Shaba’s landscape and vegetation are lush, making it harder to see wildlife but it is habitat for a wide variety of animals. A number of endemic species live here, such as grevysebra, net giraffe, giraffe antelope and Somali ostrich. Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, oryx, grant gazelle, dik-dikantilope and waterbuck are also found here.

DAY 5

You check out of Sarova Shaba Game Lodge and continue your safari to Elementaita, the driving time is about 6.5 hours. You stay for lunch in the Nyahururu area and arrive at Sunbird Lodge in the late afternoon.

DAY 6

After breakfast, a full-day game drive starts in Lake Nakuru National Park with a picnic lunch. Lake Nakuru is home to many wildlife, both black and white rhinos, the latter of which are sometimes not afraid to approach the safari vehicle and give you incredible opportunity for close-up photography. You return to the lodge at sunset.

DAY 7

After breakfast you continue on the safari to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The Masai tribe lives in this area and you see their characteristic red shukas as you approach. You check in at Ilkeliani Camp where you have lunch and then follow an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve and you return to the camp after sunset.

DAY 8

After breakfast you get ready for a full day gamma drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, you eat a picnic lunch in the reserve. Alternatively, you can go on a morning game drive, back to the lodge for lunch and after that go out on an afternoon game drive instead. This can be arranged with your driver / guide. Other activities can be arranged at extra cost such as balloon safaris, Masai village visits and safari walks.

DAY 9

Time to end a classic safari in Kenya. Transfer back to Nairobi, about 5.5 hours. You will be dropped off at the airport for a flight home.

For those who wish, there is the opportunity to extend the trip with a few days of sunbathing and swimming on a beach by the Indian Ocean.

Flight Safari Masai Mara National Reserve! If you have limited time or want to avoid Kenya’s sometimes tough roads out to the national parks, a flight safari to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve is an excellent choice. You fly from Wilson Airport and land in the Masai Mara after about 1 hour in the air. You then ride the camp’s own safari vehicle on game drives, morning and afternoon. It is a very comfortable safari but still adventurous and seeing the soft, rolling hills of the Masai Mara National Reserve on the approach is just an experience in itself!

DAY 1 ARRIVAL NAIROBI, KENYA

Upon arrival in Nairobi, your flight safari Masai Mara starts. You will receive a transfer to Hotel Tamarind Tree House.

DAY 2 SAFARI FLIGHT TO MASAI MARA

Transfer to Wilson Airport for safari flight to Masai Mara. The safari flight has a maximum of 15 kg luggage weight in soft bags.
You arrive about 1 hour later in the Masai Mara National Reserve and you are greeted by the Governors´Camp safari jeep and you get a short safari trip to the camp. Lunch and then gamedrive (safari) in the afternoon. The camp is located inside the reserve with the best safari location. Dinner and overnight Governors´ with full board.

DAY 3 SAFARI, SAFARI

Safari morning and afternoon. You do the safaris with other guests from the camp with the camp’s car and safari guide. There is also time to sit and enjoy outside your tent and look out over the savannah.

Extra activities that we can offer are e.g. balloon safari in the morning, hiking safari and visit to Masaiby.

DAY 4 FAREWELL TO THE WILD

Transfer to airstrip after breakfast, safari along the way. Safari flight back to Nairobi. Transfer to hotel or Kenyatta Airport for further flights to eg sun and swimming in the Indian Ocean.
