First tube led Osram brand that I try and also manufactured in China (was hoping that it was Made in Germany).

It has a 3 year warranty, so we can be calm about its operation at least during that time.

I have acquired in lamparadirecta along with other tubes that I will publish soon because in large areas such as AKI and Leroy Merlin are a too expensive price of €39,95 or more (somewhere I think having seen up to €70). Orders from this store brought them from the Netherlands and takes to get 4 or 5 days: If you ask them during the weekend or on Monday you will arrive on Friday.

Pipe belongs to the family of Osram “Value” tubes or economic. According to hetongdiy, there are two other families of higher performance and price getting more intensity of light with the same amount of Watts or less:

Series value 20W 6500K: 1700 lumens (1500 to 3000K)

Basic series: 20W: 2100 lumens

Series advanced 18.4W: 2300 lumens

Tube

It comes in a cardboard box with the typical colors of the products of Osram.

It is built entirely in plastic and is slightly flexible, which avoids that you can break as the glass (by the prices that I’ve seen glass are cheaper than plastic + aluminum).

This tube is that feed on one end, which is only marked with an “L”.

It is a tube of brand that seems to be of good quality with reasonable price (at least where I bought it) and a high number of cycles of ignition/shutdown.

It represents a saving in consumption by replacing a fluorescent ballast and Starter, but low saving to replace a fluorescent with electronic ballast.

There are however keep in mind that it does not just to give the same amount of light than a normal fluorescent (although by now is the closest) and the driver heats too much compared to other led tubes.

If we want more light we would have to go to the “basic” or “advanced” series which offers greater amount of lumens with the same consumption Watts but at one higher price.
