Day 3

Malacca

During your morning city tour, immerse yourself in the rich colonial history of Malacca, which was once the center of world trade (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The city captivates with Chinese merchant houses, the Portuguese fortress gate, the Dutch square and Indian temples. In the afternoon, head back from the historic city of Malacca to the bustling metropolis of Kuala Lumpur, where the evening is at your leisure. Day 4

Kuala Lumpur

Today you get to know the multicultural capital and its unique mix of styles of huge skyscrapers, city highways, colonial architecture, numerous colorful temples and Islamic buildings during your city tour. A photo stop at the world-famous Petronas twin towers, the landmarks of the country, rounds off the tour. If you like, you can end the evening in lively Chinatown. (F)

Cameron Highlands

After visiting the Batu Cave, which is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus in Malaysia, and the Lata Iskandar waterfall, you will reach the Cameron Highlands today. Due to the altitude at approx. 1,500 m, the fertile region is the center of local tea cultivation. 1 night in the Highlands. (F)

Day 6

Penang

On an easy hike through the cloud forest, you will experience moss-covered trees and exotic pitcher plants. Then you will get interesting insights into local tea cultivation on a plantation. On your onward journey to Penang, you will make a stop in an orangutan reserve and, with a bit of luck, may catch a glimpse of the great apes. You can reach Penang Island via one of the longest bridges in the world (13.5 km). 2 nights in Penang. (F)

Day 7

George Town

Today you explore the island’s capital, George Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The narrow streets of the historic center are still very busy, and Chinese temples, mosques, Christian churches, Indian temples and colonial buildings shape the cityscape to this day. Stroll through this maze of alleys and pay a visit to the Peranakan Mansion Museum. Afterwards you can relax with a rickshaw ride. In the evening, stroll through the night market and try culinary delicacies. (F)

Day 8

Kuching

Today you fly from Penang to Kuching, the capital of the Malaysian state Sarawak on Borneo. Borneo is the third largest island in the world and offers an incredible biodiversity, most of which are found exclusively on the island. On your city tour you will see English colonial buildings as well as evidence of Malaysian, Chinese and Indian culture in the form of temples, churches and mosques next to modern buildings. You will spend the following two nights in Kuching. (F)

Day 9

Bako National Park

After a short drive you will reach the fishing village of Bako. A boat trip takes you to the oldest national park in Sarawak. This offers a variety of flora and fauna. With a bit of luck you can also observe some rare species of animals, such as proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards or exotic birds. Return to Kuching in the late afternoon. (F / M)

Day 10

Orangutan reserve

Today you will visit a reintroduction station for orangutans. With a bit of luck you can watch the red-brown, shaggy great apes shimmy from branch to branch looking for food. Afterwards you drive to the coast outside of Kuching and spend the next 2 nights in a beach resort in Damai Beach. (F)

Day 11

Damai

Enjoy quiet hours in your beach resort. Today you can also walk to the Sarawak Cultural Center, where you can gain fascinating insights into the various ethnic groups in the state of Sarawak. A multicultural dance performance rounds off your visit. (F / M)

Day 12

Kota Kinabalu

You get back to Kuching and from there fly on to Kota Kinabalu. After checking in at your hotel, take a late afternoon stroll to get a first impression of the capital of Sabah in northern Borneo. 2 nights in Kota Kinabalu. (F)

Day 13

Kinabalu National Park

Today you take a trip to Kinabalu National Park. You can
admire the fascinating botanical paradise on a short hike . If you like, you can also walk through the jungle on a suspension bridge. The hot sulfur springs of Poring promise a soothing relaxation bath before you return to Kota Kinabalu. (F / M)

Day 14

Farewell to Malaysia

You have time for your own activities before your transfer to the airport. Transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport in the late afternoon. Return home via Kuala Lumpur. (F)
