OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of one Principal Investigator, the
incumbent will serve as project manager and data coordinator for
one quantitative questionnaire-based research project focusing
on Mexico-U.S. migration, substance use, and risks for HIV among
at-risk populations in Mexico. Responsibilities include
oversight and training of professional interviewer, staff
personnel and student aides; planning and assigning work tasks;
designing and formatting questionnaires; managing all aspects of
questionnaire data collection; creating methods for maintaining
all study-related documents; creating databases and supervising
database management, including entering data as appropriate;
help determine participant eligibility for study; supervising
and conducting structured questionnaire-based interviews;
preparing and maintaining human subjects protocols and updates
as necessary; making original contributions to publications,
research design and grant/manuscript writing. Translation
(English/Spanish) of instruments and documents may be needed.
Incumbent will assist with preparing Powerpoint presentations
and interim reports to the funder. Incumbent will oversee and
perform a wide variety of field recruitment and networking tasks
that require ingenuity, resourcefulness and flexibility.
Incumbent must be able to assist with programming computer
assisted questionnaire using QDS software which is designed for
computer-based interviewer-administered questionnaire research
studies.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must be willing to work occasional overtime and/or flexible schedule
including evenings and weekends.
Must have access to reliable transportation and be willing to
travel to Mexico as necessary.
Must have valid California driver's license.
Must be bilingual, read, speak, write and translate English and
Mexican Spanish fluently.
Must have knowledge of US-Mexico migration history and knowledge
of migration within Mexico.

contributing particularly in areas related
to performance of study goals consistent
with established timelines, and operational
issues related to data collection
management.
J. Work with community agencies in Mexico to
develop presentations of novel research
findings.
